Since signing rapist David Goodwillie (convicted in 2017) back in January, Raith Rovers had pledged not to play the 32-year-old striker, and have instead off loaded him back to his most recent club, Clyde FC, in a loan deal in attempts to further clear its name after recognising it was a mistake signing the controversial player. This allows the Glasgow club to take the player until the end of the current season, paying the majority of his wages. But more importantly, I feel this transfer is ironic, as it backtracks on the reason he is being loaned in the first place, allowing him to return to full-time first team football.
